The Watchman Past Life

The Watchman signifies not coping well with daily life. Maybe things tended to pile up in the past, conspiring against your best efforts to get through it all. We often feel as though we don’t want to work, sometimes just can’t face things, avoiding having to think about them, which of course will make everything feel worse. There is also a tendency to fall into the trap of worrying unnecessarily about things that haven’t yet happened, and probably never will. This wastes our energy and makes us feel despondent and that everything is futile.

So – what to do? For a start, we need to ensure we find our sense of humor again! Learning to laugh at ourselves and the things we are freaking about is one of life’s great qualities to acquire. We also need to look at any pressing fears or worries and ask ourselves if, realistically, we actually KNOW we have something to worry about. If we are objective and honest when we answer the question, very often we’ll find we are feeling down and are actively looking for things to get anxious around. We can do this just to try to take control when we feel things might start getting out of hand – and it usually does us no good at all.

Next – accept in your heart that not every day is trouble free and also accept your power to maximize or minimize the hassles you experience. The less you let things affect you, despite their troublesome nature, the easier the most difficult of days will go.

The Watchman usually worked at night, a great way to avoid too much interaction with people, thus minimizing the fear and anxieties that came with daily life. That said, it was a job that could carry danger so cowardice was not behind this – good omen for this current life! The watchman patrolled the streets at night, keeping a lookout for fires, checking that doors were locked and delivering drunks and vagrants to the watch constable. Their low wages and the dangerous nature of the job attracted a ‘lowly’ person and they had a reputation for being old, ineffectual, drunk or asleep on the job.

An upright card generally signifies you are well aware of what you need to do to improve in this life, that you have learned from this past life and are progressing on your life path. There are things that still to be addressed but on the whole things are going well.
